The Gospel

Sep 6, 2026  •  Pastor Corey Buchanan

What if you look like you have everything together, but you are still far from God?

In Ephesians 2:11–22, Paul reminds the church to remember three things: how far we were from God, what Christ has done for us, and who we are now because of the Gospel.

This message challenges us to look beyond appearances. We can be educated, successful, religious, or even attend church regularly and still need the saving grace of Jesus. The good news is that Christ does what we could never do for ourselves. Through His blood, He brings those who were far away near to God, gives us peace with the Father, and reconciles us to one another.

The Gospel also changes how we live. Remembering where God brought us from should make us humble, gracious, forgiving, and willing to pursue peace. And remembering who we are now reminds us that we are not strangers anymore—we are citizens of God’s kingdom, members of His family, and part of the church He is building together.

This sermon is an invitation to examine your heart, remember God’s grace, and live out the Gospel in your relationships, your church family, and your everyday life.
